A chance to explore breathtaking sights in three fascinating South American countries.
Head to South America and you must visit Iguacu Falls. Here, more than 275 waterfalls combine to create a landscape that is simply jaw-dropping. The most famous of the falls is Devil's Throat and as the water cascades almost hypnotically over the edge the sound that surrounds you is thunderous.
Perhaps one of the most iconic sights to visit on a tour to Brazil is the statue of Christ the Redeemer - it's no surprise that it's one of the modern seven wonders of the world as this imposing statue watches over the city of Rio. But it's not just the statue that is worth the visit - the ride up the cog railway and views across to Sugar Loaf Mountain and the bay are mesmerising.
For a once in a lifetime visit to Brazil - tie your trip into the Rio Carnival as a festival atmosphere takes over the city. With seats in the Sambodromo enjoy watching colour, dancing and music parade in front of you.
Spending time in Rio also offers the opportunity to spend time at Copacabana Beach. Walk along the golden sandy beach, go for a dip in the clear sea waters or simply relax and take in the atmosphere. Perfect!
Brazil has a pleasant climate with an average of nine hours sunshine a day in the summer months. Rainfall is evenly distributed throughout the year.
Casual lightweight clothes are the order of the day for warmer climates. We also recommend that you take a warm jacket, bathing costume and good walking shoes.
You may find a cardigan or pullover useful for air-conditioned buildings and transportation.
Brazilian cuisine is strongly influenced by Portugal. The national dish of Brazil is feijoada which is traditionally served on Saturdays at lunchtime. This consists of black beans, sausage, beef and pork which are all served with rice. The national drink in Brazil is ‘caipiriaha’. This is a type of cocktail made of crushed lime, sugar and pinga, a spirit made from sugar cane.
